What does the world of Antilia look like? Where are the major cities? The trade routes? Where does one go to hire a ship to look for a lost island? What if I needed to do research on an ancient ruins? Where is the largest library in Antilia? Where are the best swords made? Where is the greates school of magic at? I guess I have lots of questions about the locations of Antilia. After 12 yrs in the military, I hate not knowing the locations of things. lol

I had really hoped to create and at least begin to populate a 'canon' section on the site before the Official canon RP, and I'll try my best to include background information and maps where I can as we go along.

For now, here's a map of Antilia highlighting the major cities and some features:

Is Lantros a tropical area? The island chain would be a perfect place for brigands to hide out at and for forgotten islands to be located. Also it may be an excellent place for a jumping off point for a future western continent?

Here's a quick rundown of the cities. Antilia is in the southern hemisphere, so the equator is nearer the top of the continent.

  • Ariiel - Hot, tropical, dry with summer monsoons. City is on the 'edge' of Taipii civilization. It was originally colonized as a place to 'get away' from the oversight of the God-pairs and the Lynnar government. Ariiel is a innovative, artsy, and liberal place. Ariiel is the only city with an official 'thieves district', in spite of numerous attempts by the Antilian Gaurd to root it out and replace it.
  • Alenfay - Warm, nestled in a lush valley between two forests, weather is generally mild, but it is very humid. Small village centered around wine-production. A sort of 'road-stop' between the largest cities Lynnar, Chalei, and Ariiel - with a lot of on-going conflicts and bar-fights between locals and travelers, and the pro-government Lynnar folk vs. the "free" Ariiel folks.
  • Chalei - A desert oasis. Warm, dry, but lush in the valley. Frequently hit by violent storms where weather meets the mountains. Chalei's is best known as being a city of magic and magic education, but is also home to a lot of industry (think metal working with metal coming from mines in the mountains).
  • Lantros - A perpetually windy, humid, rainy peninsula. Can get cold in the winter. Lantros is where the Taipii first landed on Antilia, and is the oldest city. Also home of the Kisan God-pair, who were the original rulers of the Taipii before Lynnar established a more democratic government.
  • Lynnar - Warm and pleasant most of the year, but can get a little cold in the winter. Lynnar is the largest city, and home of the Antilian governmental council and Antilian Gaurd. Set atop a high cliff dropping into the ocean, and surrounded by the wondrous "Aurora" trees, Lynnar is rich in resources for industry, while being in an easily defended position.
  • Nayr - Nayr's climate is about the same as Ariiel's. Nayr is a small farming village town on the plains. Very few people wander to Nayr unless they have specific business there, and Nayr folk tend to keep to themselves.
  • Talikus - Talikus has a very pleasant climate - never getting too hot or cold, with light rain but few storms. Occasionally sandstorm in Aier may dust the region with sand, but only once or twice per year. Talikus is a wealthy place, but has strong ties with Lynnar, and an above average number of gaurds (due to the thieves district in nearby Ariiel). The mountains canyonlands between it and Chalei make direct travel difficult between the two nearly impossible, so most trade and travel between it and the lower cities is via ship.

You should see the original. That's scaled down. ;) (The image is intentionally large so that I can hide various texts, and make more detailed maps of each region)

“Why do you close your eyes?” asked the apprentice. “To see reality” the master replied.

I wouldn't say never - it (as well as other areas not shown) are more 'future expansion material'.
