Digitigrade vs. Planitgrade

Kila

Looking at the media, it appears they are all digitigrade leg types. However, as I have not decided on what species I would be, this is important as for different species I like different leg types. For felines, i prefer plantigrade. For lupines, vulplines, and other canids, I prefer digitgrade(though Trinity, my character in the roleplay has plantigrade legs). So Iwas wondering if there would be that option in developing your charcter.

Digitgrade will be the only option. Allowing for both would mean all animations including leg movement would have to be done twice - which would simply be too much redundant work.

The reason I went with digitgrade is twofold: 1) Most MMORPGs that have an anthro race tend to use plantigrade (since it doesn't involve custom animations), and 2) I think digitgrade is simply more fun/more interesting.

Hmm. But if a species is plantigrade/unguligrade in real life, I think Antilia should reflect that...I dislike the Ursa Major awards logo for that mistake (bears are plantigrade, dammit!)

I understand your point, but as Jeff said, this would just mean twice the work for something a majority would not notice/care about. Plus, there's more important work for this game to get rollin'. So, you and I will just have to deal with the general populations' misunderstanding of the anatomical structure of animals. ;P

As far as I know, none of the currently considered races are strictly plantigrade, so this mistake is highly unlikely to occur in Antilia.

While we're at it, let's get into the argument about how so many people claim digitigrade would never work on a two legged creature(Which is like saying a Human being can't stand on its toes)

As for the argument, I would like to point out that that's what tails are for.
