Client crashes.

Ryu113

I downloaded the game client, unzipped, ran it and it downloaded all the files needed. I created a character, and started playing. However, the game runs at <10 FPS at all times, and shortly after I start playing, it crashes with the usual Windows prompt.
What do I do?

Here is the AntiliaClient.log in pastebin, due to length (I've tried running it several times.)

By the way I am running on Windows XP 32-bit SP3

There are a few things you can try to improve performance (and more performance improvements are planned soon):

While in-game:
  • Open the Settings menu and pick "Video". Set "Shader Quality" to "Medium".
  • Open the Settings menu and pick "Toggle Mini-map". (The mini-map is currently a big of a hog).
  • In the Detail Settings, there are several options you can try adjusting to see if you can boost performance a little more. Depending on your CPU and GPU, these may or may not help.
To prevent most in-game crashes:
  • Open the Settings menu again and pick "Detail Settings". Click on "Terrain" on the left and uncheck "Enable Clutter'
Tomorrow I'll be gathering performance statistics that should help me identify which areas of the code to try optimizing next.

I did as you said, apparently the minimap was causing the fps drop. After that it ran decently, at solid 30 FPS... It still crashed, for no apparent reason.
