My Favorite (Indie) Games.

Fang299

So as a late-ish birthday present, I receved a game from my wishlist on steam known as "Kenshi", which translates to "Swordsman"...

I havent played it enough yet to give it a good description, so if you want to skip to a good description, here's a link to the game's Q and A section of the website.

As It stands, it is another game currently in it's alpha state, and still being built. It is a stratagy roll playing game foucused on squad based gameplay. You make a charecter, and are thrown into the world with a rusty katana, some pants, and... thats about it. I assume females start with a shirt of some kind, but... idk...

As it's stated in the site, your no hero. your not some mythical chosen one. your not some important figure. the univerce does not center around you... in fact, in the begining, your a pushover, little more then cannon fodder for any threat that lurks in the wasteland... If you want to be something, you need to work for it. you, and every NPC in the world has equal potential.

As of this moment, you have a massive overworld to wander around in. you can build things, even fully functioning citys with stores, generators and everything. Theres wandering bandits tribes, as well as organised armys (that don't mind you following them and looting there kills). There's a limmeted degree of customisation in terms of charecter creation... currently theres the option of "Bald" and "crew cut"... but a straw hat can cover that up nicely... Theres enough options in terms of a wardrobe to keep most people happy for now.

Health functions on location damage rather then the standard health bar... or at least, it uses multipule health bars. each limb has a bar... your head and chest have a health bar... and theres even one that represents bloodloss... Though that does not mean that your going to get flooded with information... it's all easy enough to keep track of.

In the plans on the game's site, you can see some of the features there planning and I have to say, it's a very ambitious progect... I highly sugest taking a look.

And thats all I have to say about it at the moment. I would describe it better, but it's in it's alpha build, and I havent played that long...

... And here's a pic of Leonash and Benji mooching off of the kills of the local police... ((the green guy is the bad guy...))

... And here's a picture of Benji dealing with nightmares afterwords.

... I know it's spelled "Benjie", but thats because I screwed up the spelling in the charecter maker... cuz I was tired...

Tell me, are you a fan of FPS games? Whats that? your not a fan of guns? Why are you talking about guns? I'm talking about the "First person slasher" kind of FPS.

Lemme tell you about chivalry...

"Chiv" is a very well made game foucusing on melee combat... and archery set in a midevil era. essentualy theres a faction of knights that break away from the king... or something.... I don't know, storys not important in this game... for once... what is important is the raw, brutal melee combat, the wide, balanced array of midevil weaponry ((my personal favorit being the Zweihänder, my fists a close second)), the blood, and the dismemberment.

The best way I can describe the gameplay is this...

Think elderscrolls style combat, but more in-depth... also, it's more arena-like... and your no super special chosen one or anything, in fact, your most likely looked at as just another red shirt.

I would go more in-depth, but really... Thats all there is to it.

This game is simplicity at it's finest, and the only way to really appreciate it to to watch a tidbit yourself... but be warned... There will be blood.

if your a sword nut like I am, this game is more the worth a look. Check it out on steam.

Random trivia time: A little misadventure in this game is why my steam screen name is "Sir Prize"

So, your a deep thinker. You like building things. You enjoy thinking outside the box. You enjoy video games.

Welp, if this describes you, your new life has arived.

This is a video of Nerd3 Playing a game called "crashtastic", which is a game curently in it's alpha build. It is about building vehicles to fufill objectives. Frankly, I would describe the objectives I have seen so far, but that would not do this game justice. Watch the video. All of it.

Now, building a vehical and driving it. Sounds kinda lame in speak, but... Once you see all the things that you can make, from rocket propeled unicycles that reach half a mile off the ground, to a few slaped together planks with a bajilion rockets attached... note my use of rockets in both statments... they are your main source of momentum. Makeing deathtraps and vehicles that compleat the level kinda go hand-in-hand in this game, which I enjoy...

Yea, I can't do this game justice with words. go watch the video.
